"Remember All Things"
 Scripture: John 14:26

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

Devotion: Remember – this word means to be able to bring to one’s mind an awareness of someone or something one has seen or known in the past. This definition tells me that that we as people forget – imagine that..LOL! The scripture reminds us that the Holy Ghost, which was sent by God in Jesus’ name, will bring ALL things back to our remembrance. Most people only quote the scripture up unto this point, but the last 6 words are equally important. It says, whatsoever I have said unto you, which tells me that we need to know what Jesus said. How do we know what Jesus said? We have a relationship with Him, we study His Word, we talk to Him daily, we listen to His Comforter – the Holy Ghost. We must do these things daily in order to prepare ourselves to minister.

When our oldest decided she wanted to play basketball for real, we let her know that she must always be ready. Practice, nutrition, and rest all combined to make her an outstanding athlete by the grace of God. The same hold true for our relationship with God. We must always be ready because we never know when we will be in a position and we will need to give someone the gospel. One thing we can be assured of is that the Holy Ghost will teach us and will bring ALL things back to our remembrance.

Prayer: Lord God, thank you for the gift of the Holy Ghost. Remind us to always listen to His teachings and thank you for the privilege of receiving this wonderful gift. As we proclaim Your word, help us to know that we have an advocate – the Holy Ghost – who will bring all things you have taught us back to our remembrance. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
