“The Abundance of Peace”
Scripture: Psalm 37:11

“But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.”

Devotion:
One definition of abundance states “plentifulness of the good things of life: prosperity”, which tells me that it’s simply stated – a whole lot or as I have often heard said, “a whole heap”. Having an abundance means you are doing well in some aspect or another. We can have abundance in God, whether it be peace as in our scripture for today or grace or whatever you need. God is not slack concerning His promises, and He promises to bless us “exceeding, abundantly above all we could ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20).

However, there has to be some things in line before we can receive the abundance of God. We have to be prayed up, fasted up, and Worded up. We have to be as Pastor says, “in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing”. We cannot be slack and expect to receive abundance. I remember when my daughter started playing basketball. Her father asked her if this is what she wanted to do. She said yes and he then explained to her how she would have to be disciplined to succeed. She was, and God blessed her and is still blessing her greatly. The same goes for us. We have to be disciplined in God, be at our appointed post on time, and ensure we are fulfilling our purpose in the ministry in order to receive God’s abundance.

Prayer:
God, thank You for Your abundance. Help us to understand that it will not come without discipline or sacrifice. Help us to have a willing heart, knowing that You will give us more than we could ever imagine. We love You and we praise You always. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
