Walk By Faith, Not By Sight
“7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.”: - 2 Corinthians 5:7

Devotional:
I remember a season in my life when I didn’t have money to pay my mortgage. I sat in the parking lot at my job and cried out to the Lord, begging Him to move on my behalf and show me how I was going to pay my mortgage. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “go to the bank and speak with the banker.” I got off work that day and went directly to the bank. I had been banking with UCB (now known as Truist) for years and they knew who I was. I asked for Ms. Wanda and the rest is history. I've been in my home thirty years now, and I still walk by that same faith I had when I heard The Lord say, "Go to the bank."

I heard this quote some time ago, “Knowledge is the enemy to faith.”  That is a very powerful statement. The reality of our situations can oftentimes cause us to waiver in our faith and even cause us to question God.  Faith is the ultimate pleasure of The Lord, for it is impossible to please Him without it. So, why would we deny Him the pleasure of providing for us. Look at it this way, if you did not have the ability to see, how would you walk? We walk by faith (what we do not know/Hope), not by sight (Knowledge).

As you move throughout your day today, think about the blind person who moves without sight, nor knowledge of what’s before them. They put their faith stick in front of them, and walk with confidence. 

Prayer:
Lord, I thank you for giving me the faith I have in You and closing my eyes to the reality I see before me. My desire is to please You and that is through my faith in You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
