The Mind - Winning With Might Not Flesh
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Devotional:
Have you ever had to deal with a situation where people were saying things about you and your response was not what they expected? I certainly have. Paul wrote this letter to the church of Corinth. You see, the church folk were talking about Paul, saying he talked a big game in his letters but when they saw him face to face he was weak. So, Paul trying to keep the peace sends this letter to the church begging them to stop running their mouths so he wouldn't have to be stern with them. The naysayers felt like Paul was walking in his flesh when he did not come to see about them.
However, Paul let them know, yes you're right we do walk in the flesh but we do not fight in the flesh. Why? Because we know who we're fighting. When we think about this message from Paul, we can immediately go to some of our own life experiences where we had to take a step back and recognize it's the enemy whose at play here and the flesh will never win with the enemy.. Our mind can and will play tricks on us when we allow it to wonder and take matters in to our own hands. It's important that we understand this message, the weapons are not carnal, meaning of the flesh, but they are mighty in God, casting down arguments (what people are saying about you and the God you serve) and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge (everything that you know to be true about God) bringing everything thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

As you go through this time of fasting, do not allow the enemy to cause you to think anything different than what you already know to be true about Christ.  Remember, our actions reveal our thoughts.  Anything that is contrary to what is true about the knowledge of God must be cast down. It's the strongest man that wins. God controls our mind only when it's stayed on Him. Keep your mind on Jesus.

Prayer:
Lord I thank you for being mighty in my life and for always being willing to fight for me. I thank you for the increased faith in what I know to be true about you, You always win. In Jesus' name, Amen.
