“The Depth of God’s Love”
Scripture: Romans 5:8 (NIV)

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Devotion:
Romans 5:8 is a profound reminder of the depth and unshakable nature of God’s love for humanity. It reveals that God’s love is not conditional upon our worthiness or efforts. In our brokenness, rebellion, and sin, God reached out through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, proving that His love is not only unearned but also unrelenting.

We often measure love by what we can give or receive in return, but God’s love defies this standard. He loved us at our lowest, when we could offer Him nothing. This act of grace shatters the idea that we must be “good enough” to be loved by God. Instead, His love is freely given, and it calls us into a life of gratitude, faith, and transformation.

Action Step:
Take a moment today to reflect on how God’s love has transformed your life. Consider extending that same love to someone who may feel unworthy or unloved. Share a kind word, an act of service, or simply listen to someone in need.

Thought for Today:
God’s love isn’t based on who we are but on who He is.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me even when I was far from You. Help me to understand the depth of Your love and live in response to that grace. Teach me to love others as You have loved me—unconditionally and sacrificially. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
