“God’s Timely Grace”
Scripture: 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowless. Intsead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

Devotion:
Today’s scripture lets us know that God’s grace is not only sufficient, but it is also timely. God loves us so much that He gives us chance after chance to get it right. He could easily get tired and fed up with the way this world is, and bring everything to an end with a snap of His fingers. His desire is for His word to reach every corner of the world, offering every soul a chance for redemption and salvation. God gave us the freedom of choice. When we hear the word, it is up to us to receive it and allow it to be planted and hidden in our heart.

One day, I started thinking about the grace of God. Prior to being saved, I would sit in church, hear the word, and feel the Lord propelling me to go up to the altar. Yet, I would sit there stubbornly and refuse, saying, "Not yet, Lord." Then, one day, I could no longer ignore that knock, and I gave God my heart. What stood out to me is that God loved me enough that even though I rejected Him initially, He didn't stop knocking and asking me to let Him into my heart. He loved me while I was yet a sinner. His grace covered me in my ignorance, and I am so thankful that He did not give up on me. God could have just knocked one time, and left me in my sinful state, but He kept on knocking. That’s grace.

Today, God is knocking on the door of your heart. If you have not accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do so. No one or nothing surpasses our God. He is a keeper!

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for saving me and redeeming me back to You. Help me show the grace and patience with others that You have shown me. Amen.
