“Grace Alone”
Scripture: Romans 11:6 (NIV)

"And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace."

Devotion:
Romans 11:6 serves as a powerful reminder of the foundation of our salvation. Paul emphasizes that God's grace is a gift, completely unearned by human effort. If salvation depended on our works, it would no longer be grace—it would be a transaction. Grace, by its very nature, is freely given and unmerited.

This verse challenges us to examine where we place our confidence. Do we rely on our good deeds, moral efforts, or religious practices to make us right with God? While these are valuable responses to faith, they can never earn God’s favor. Instead, salvation rests solely on His grace.

Grace also frees us from striving for perfection in our own strength. We are not loved by God because of what we do but because of who He is—a loving and merciful Father.

Challenge:
Today, take a moment to thank God for His grace in your life. Reflect on areas where you may still be striving to "earn" His favor and release those burdens to Him. Let His grace transform how you view yourself and others.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your amazing grace that saves me, not because of anything I have done, but because of Your love and mercy. Help me to rest in the truth of Your grace and live out of gratitude for the gift of salvation. Teach me to trust in You alone, not in my works, as the source of my righteousness. Amen.
