Behold I Make All Things New
“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” - Revelation 21:5

Devotional:
When I was a little girl, my grandmother would call my father when I misbehaved. That meant I was about to get a good whopping. Then there were days when I was feeling bad, and she would call my father, and that meant, I was about to feel better. I remember the day I broke my finger playing softball. I was in the 10th grade, enjoying what I enjoyed, playing softball. I should have known better to try and catch the ball without a glove, but immaturity and adrenaline took over. I put my hand out to catch the ball and the ball went right between the middle finger and the ring finger. Boy was I in pain. The school called my grandma, and my grandma called my father. That was one day I was happy to see him come to see what was going on with Little Lisa. Why, because in my eyes, my daddy could make all the pain go away. Everything would be new.

…then there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away, vs.4b. Then He adds, all the old stuff will pass away, because He has some new stuff for you. Then He adds, write it. Why, because these words, His words, are true and you can bet your life on them. What He’s saying will come to pass. You can go to the bank with this check. This is not a promise to pay. This check is good. Not only are they (His words) true but they (His words) are also faithful. Our Father is not slack concerning His promises, 2 Peter 3:9a.

As you go about your day today, know that our Father is sitting on the throne, saying some good stuff to us. He has made all things new for us. Walk in your newness today.

Prayer:
Lord, we thank You for making all things new for us, even when we don’t deserve it. Thank you for being the Father who cannot lie and stands true to your word. In Jesus Name, Amen.
