Husbands, Love Your Wives
Ephesians 5:25-33

Throughout the word of God, we see Christ’s relationship with the church being compared to that of the relationship between a husband and a wife. Today’s scripture is no exception. The word lets us know that a husband should love his wife just as Christ loved us and sacrificed His life for us. Marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman. They are no longer two entities, but one entity walking in unity. They leave their parents, past, and former lives behind to build and establish a new life together. Similarly, when we repent of our sins, and we accept Christ into our hearts, we enter into a personal relationship with Him. We are no longer separated from God, but we become apart of the body of Christ. We walk in obedience to His word, and we follow His purpose for our lives. 

 Ultimately, the comparison of Christ and marriage goes back to God’s divine plan. God meant for Adam and Eve to be together in perfect harmony with Him in the garden as the head of their lives forever as they procreated and generation after generation served Him in unity. However, sin separated them from Him. Thank God that through the redemptive work of Jesus, we were restored to be in the right relationship with God again. Christ as the head of the family, husbands leading their families guided by Christ, and the husband and wife walking in united love, serving God together, and both raising God fearing children who will serve God. The entire family living in purpose being about kingdom business is what I believe God desires from us.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to honor You in our relationships with one another. Bless marriages, families, those who have lost loved ones, and those who are single and yet desiring marriage. Help us to bring glory to Your name in all that we say and do. In Jesus' name, Amen.
