Value Others Above Yourself
3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. - Philippians 2:3-4

Devotional:
As leaders and in ministry, it is highly important that we learn to love and value the people of God that we serve. Because, after all, ministry and leadership requires people. The word tells us to “let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit.” While we must be confident and sure of ourselves and our ability to lead others, we must always remember to consider the value and interest of others. The word tells us also that “everything lawful is not expedient.” So, sometimes what we may be justified in saying, is not always meant to be said or done at that moment. Sometimes we may need to try a different approach. But whatever we are doing, as leaders, let’s always do our best to remain humble and to look out for the interest of our fellow man. We have to also remember that we may be the only encounter that someone may have with a “Christian.” Let’s all make an effort to always look out and value others above ourselves.


Prayer:
Oh Lord, Our father. We pray that you will help us to always see the value of others. Help us to be confident, but not arrogant. Let us be sure, but not conceited. Help us to consider the interests of others and to always be ready to be of service to others. Amen.
