Faith: The Assurance of Things Hoped For”
“1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. 4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. 5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” - Hebrews 11:1-6

Devotional:
We just finished celebrating the season of Christmas where many of us received gifts from our family and friends. Now, if we were children who still believed in Santa Clause, we had our Christmas list all prepared to mail to Santa with HOPES/FAITH believing that Santa would get our letter and give us everything we asked for on the list. 

I remember one year I had wished for a baby alive. She was the baby that could eat, talk and poop. I received two that year. I guess I was a good girl. If only we could have that same type of faith when it comes to the things of God. It’s easy to trust in ourselves or others, who we can see. But it becomes challenging when we have to put our faith in God who we do not see. We don’t see Santa either, but yet the children believe. 

God spoke a word and the world was formed. God spoke a word and man was made. The Lord God spoke a word and people were healed. There is faith and hope in the words we speak. 

Today Speak hope and faith in your day. Faith, believing in what you want. you have what you say.

Prayer: 
Lord, I thank you for giving me the faith as a child, who believes in what they do not see.
