“Flowing Like Grass”
Scripture: Psalm 72:16

“There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.”

Devotion:          
Psalm 72 is a prayer of blessing for the king, but it also speaks of the greater things God has for us.  Verse 16 paints a picture of abundance and flourishing—like the grass flows in a meadow, we know that God’s blessings flow in the same manner if we only trust and obey Him.  This verse offers profound hope, not just for the Israelites, but for all of us as we look to the glorious day when Christ returns.

Imagine the fullness of God's provision, innumerable like the blades of grass, which can seem overwhelming, but in reality, is amazing. Think about standing in an open field, watching the spring breeze blow the tall grass to and fro. God’s blessings are just that, small individually like each blade of grass, but, when you put it together, it flows and overflows. God wants us to flow like that grass, trusting and depending on Him and allowing Him to carry us through.

Prayer:
God, thank You for Your abundant provision and for the promise that, under Your care, we can flourish. Help me to trust in Your faithfulness, even in seasons where it feels like there is little growth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
