Growing Up in Every Way Into Christ
15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. - Ephesians 4:15-16

Devotional:
As members of the body, we have all roles to play. The preceding scriptures to today’s devotion outlined some of those roles in the church – apostles, teachers, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers – all for the edifying of the ministry. The Word then goes on to say that when we exercise these gifts together, we build the community of believers. The growth of the church and, in turn, the community, benefits when the members of the body of Christ are exercising their gifts in harmony, in the place they are supposed to, as Christ intended.
This means personal agendas must be thrown out the window. Personal gains are not important. It means that my roles is important to the benefit of the whole body and I cannot and will not be found out of place. When the body works together effectively, each part benefits, each part grows and is strengthened.  

Prayer:
Father, remove my will from the ministry. Help me to remain in place and keep me focused on Your Will.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
