Faith Cometh By Hearing
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” - Romans 10-17

Devotional:
The more you hear a thing, the more it becomes a part of you. Let’s go back to when we were children learning our ABC’s. We would repeat after the teacher, “ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVUVWXYZ, Now I said my ABC’s, tell me what you think of me.” As children, we had no idea that those 26 letters would become what is used to form words of expression. Did it take faith to believe as a child the reasoning for learning the ABC’s? No, why? As Children we don’t know why we’re being taught something until it’s time to put it use.Which you really don't get to use until it's time to be tested on what you've learned.

Now that we’re adults and in the real world, we still need to be taught the ABC’s of life and how those ABC’s will be used to help us navigate through this world; both in the natural and in the spiritual. How can our faith increase if we’re not studying the word of God? The word of God is alive, as Pastor Samu-el often says. The word of God is a living organism. It lives in our soul and springs up every time it comes alive to us.

This hearing speaks of understanding. Faith cometh by hearing (understanding) and hearing (understanding) by the word of God. In order for us to understand  what the word says, we have to put our ear to the word. We know we can't read with our ears, but we hear with them and through hearing (understanding) our eyes are opened to understand the faith of God.

As you go throughout your day today, practice repeating your ABC’s of faith and use them as often as needed.

Prayer: 
Lord, I thank you  for opening my ears to hear and my eyes of understanding of Your word and how through faith, I am growing stronger everyday. In Jesus Name, Amen.
