Many Are the Afflictions of the Righteous
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
Psalm 34:19

Devotional:
This Psalm says many are the afflictions of the righteous… who are the righteous?  They are those who will go to battle for what is right, they are persecuted for sharing the gospel, the compassionate person, those who can help others when they are in the midst of a battle of their own.

I am so thankful that we serve a God who fights for us and delivers us in the midst of our storms.  He is waiting for us to call on Him when we are faced with afflictions.  Just know that as soldiers in His army we will have battles to fight, but fear not because there is no battle too hard for our God.   We will be troubled, but not defeated.
As written in Isaiah 54:17, we can be assured that no weapons formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against us in judgment He shall condemn.  Our righteousness is from the Lord.

Prayer:
Father we praise and thank you today, we thank you because we know that when we are troubled you are all powerful and will deliver us from despair and distress.  We praise you because you have given us a mind to trust in your promises. We thank you because when we are weak, you are our strength.  Thank you for hearing our cries and delivering us from afflictions. Lord we love you and we give you all of the glory, honor and praise in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
