After You Have Suffered a Little While
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.  
I Peter 5:10

Devotional:
Ty Tribbett has a song which says, “Weeping may endure for a night, only one night though”… If you cry, if you’re sad, if you’re stressed make sure it’s only one night though, he says and as it is written in Psalm 30:5, “Joy comes in the morning.”  I love that last part; Joy comes in the morning. Thank God we have hope for tomorrow.

I am a witness that in this life, we will suffer sadness, days will come when we will have disappointments, heartache will come, and there will be loneliness when we miss our loved ones who have passed away. We are not exempt from suffering, even Jesus suffered.  However, by His grace we will be restored, and He will make us stronger through our suffering. Romans 5:3-4 says, Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.

Let’s not wallow in these feelings of despair, but let’s pick ourselves up with the help of the Lord and face this day, moving forward, doing the will of God!

Prayer:
Lord, we thank you today for being a keeper of our souls.  We thank and praise you for your strength during the hard times. We ask that you give us the power today to rejoice in the midst of our suffering Lord, and to know that you are always with us and will never leave us nor forsake us. Amen
