"He Is The One We Proclaim"
Scripture: Colossians 1:28-29
“Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that
we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Whereunto I also labour, striving
according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.“

Devotion: In continuing with the theme of sharing the gospel, in today’s devotion lesson
Paul is expressing to us the importance of presenting God in the best way possible. We
are required to use wisdom when sharing Christ with unbelievers. We are to be an
example of Christ. We cannot be guilty of testifying in the penthouse but living in the
basement. Our life living has to match our proclamation.

In verse 28 Paul encourages us to present God perfect in our relationship with Him. The
word perfect here means “complete.” If we truly are living for Christ, then we can be
complete in Him and Him alone. After we preach to them the gospel of salvation, we are
reminded to be living examples. We cannot draw anyone out of sin if we are partying
with them and doing the same activities.

Let us be mindful as we witness to always present God completely and in the best light
possible. Our neighbors and loved ones are watching us, and we do not want to be
hypocritical and end up turning away new believers.

Prayer: Lord, we thank You for saving us and letting us be Your witnesses. Help us to always present You completely and in the best light possible. Help us to live the life that we sing and preach about. Let us be a light to someone that we come across this week. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
