All Thy Ways
 
Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
"5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
 
Devotion: Decisions, decisions, decisions. In life, we have so many decisions to make – what am I going to wear today, do I want to go to work today, what are the ramifications if I do this, if I spend this money, how will my budget be affected, do I go to Sunday School and church or just church? So many questions from the moment you arise until the time you lay your head down at night.  According to the Harvard Business Review, the average adult makes between 33-35 thousand decisions per day.  I’m going to pause for a moment to let that sink in. 33-35 thousand!!!! WOW!

Now back to the scripture, which says in ALL thy ways acknowledge him, and He will direct thy paths. Think to yourself for a moment – are you really acknowledging God in all your ways? Don’t be alarmed or think you are falling short because the Holy Spirit leads and guides us to and away from some situations, so by listening, we are acknowledging God. I have heard some people say they don’t need to acknowledge God for what to eat; however, we must take God at His Word because, He will lead us away from things, and if we have the mindset that we can help God, we may be causing ourselves harm. Take a moment and think – am I giving everything to God? Is He truly directing my paths? Am I leaning on my own understanding? In transitions, we must shed what should not go with us to the next level in order to be prepared for NEXT!
 
Prayer: Lord, help us to acknowledge You in ALL our ways. Help us to realize that You don’t need any help and for us to come to You for everything in our lives. Thank You for always being there and for directing our paths. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
