Spoken Promises

Scripture Galatians 3:16:

16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (KJV)

Devotion: In this verse, Paul makes an important point about the promise God made to Abraham. He emphasizes that the promise was made to Abraham and his "seed," not "seeds," indicating that the promise was ultimately fulfilled in one person—Jesus Christ. This distinction highlights the specific and intentional nature of God's plan of salvation.
Paul’s teaching here underscores the central role of Christ in God's redemptive plan. Through Jesus, the promise given to Abraham extends to all who believe in Him, making them heirs of the promise. It reminds us that God's promises are precise and purposeful, and they find their ultimate fulfillment in Christ.

This verse encourages us to see the continuity of God's plan throughout the Bible.
