God Honors Faithfulness 

I John 3:22
22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Devotion:
In continuing with the theme of faith, in today’s devotion text we are given assurance that when we come to our Heavenly Father, that He will give us what we ask for.
However, there is a part that we must play. After all, God allows us to participate in our own miracle. When we make our petitions to the Lord, we must make sure that we are asking in the proper manner. When we obey and follow His commandments, that is our evidence that we are His children. On the natural side, if we have a child that comes and asks for something, we will be more inclined to give them what they are asking for if they are an obedient child and follow the directions we give them as parents. That’s just how God wants us to come to Him, as obedient children, and not just obedient, but faithful in our obedience. When we follow His instructions and show Him that we are able to be obedient, He will give us what we ask according to His will.

Prayer:
Lord, we thank You for being a kind and loving Heavenly Father. We ask that you help us to be faithful in our obedience to You. We know that You honor faithfulness, and when we are faithful, You will bless us as dear children. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
