“Tarry, ‘til Help Comes.”
“And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” – Luke 24:49

Devotional:
Sometimes, the hardest thing we can do is to wait. The word “tarry” means to delay, to linger in expectation, or to wait. It also means to stay and abide in one place. The Father promised to send the Holy Ghost, but the disciples had to follow the instructions, which included waiting for it. Had they decided to do their own thing – to go home or to go fishing – they would have missed the glorious and great promise on the day of Pentecost.

People of God – let us not be hasty, let us not be so quick to do it our way. Sometimes, the best results come from just waiting. When we wait on God, we know and expect there to be great things occurring. However, when we try to help God, we mess up His perfect Will. As we continue the Road to Pentecost, let us be found as the disciples were – waiting in expectation for the promise from the Lord.

Prayer:
Father, thank you for the promise of the Holy Spirit. We are waiting in expectation for your glorious return, and we will “tarry, til You come”.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
