It’s His Strength, Not Mine

I Philippians 4:12-13 
12 I know both how to be abased, and know how to abound; everywhere and in all things, I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. 

Devotion:
We may not always possess everything that we desire, but we must trust that God will provide all that we need.  Paul shows us in the word that His sufficiency is in Christ, whose peace and purpose he enjoys regardless of life’s circumstances.

We must get to the point that no matter the situation we are in, what achievements we have made or have not made, even when know we have fallen short; that God will always be with us.  Just as Paul who was in prison at the time of his writing, knew that God had not forgotten him.  God still cared for Paul no matter what and He cares for us today.

We will have days when we have everything that we need, and other days we will find ourselves in “desperate” need of things.  We may face times when we feel that we have done all that we can, and nothing seems to work out. This is the time when we have to trust God ever the more.  We must get focused, pick up our bible and read it and never ever give up.  We must believe the word that says I can do all things in him that strengthenth me and put our faith into action.

When we are feeling weak, He will make us strong.  Psalm 138:3 says, In the day when I cried, thou answeredst me, and strenghthenedst me with strength in my soul.

Prayer
 Father, we come to You today, trusting and believing that You do all things well, and it is in You that we put our trust.  Help us to be content in every situation. Thank You for the promise to never leave us nor forsake us.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
