Knowing His Will

Col. 1:9-12
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Devotional:
What is spiritual growth? Spiritual growth is the process of developing self-identity, nurturing meaningful relationships with others or with a higher power, communing with nature, and recognizing transcendence and unity. Spiritual knowledge has to do with our obedience to God’s word. 2 Timothy 2:15 says that we should practice what is revealed to us through the scriptures and apply it to our daily life. A life that pleases God is one that is being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might.

Let us not think that we have arrived and become unteachable. Let us continue to thirst and hunger for God and His word. Let our desire be to draw closer to Him, like a bottomless pit that never becomes full as we continue to feast on the word of God. As Paul prayed for the Colossian believers to seek God more and be filled with the knowledge of God, let us have that same desire. The desire to be strengthened with His glorious power and grow every day.

Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for filling me with knowledge of Your word and giving me the power to endure as I run this race of faith in You. I thank You for the joy and peace you’ve given to me, and I will always be thankful, giving You all the glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
