 “I Sing Praise to My Lord”

Psalm 42:11
11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Devotional:
I’ve had many sad days in my life. Like the day my house burned down when I was in kindergarten. I lost Ms. Beasley in that fire. She was my stand-up doll. I loved her. We were friends.  Then there was the day my cat ran away from home. He never returned. Then it was the day my bike was stolen. My dad bought me another one. Then I missed my Junior, Senior and all the other prom’s because I was a teenage mom. Then I grew up and life happened. LOL!

Life has a way of taking the joy out of our souls and causing us to question God about our life. Those experiences will cause us to get discouraged and restless and can cause us to lose heart. I believe David had an aha moment when he said he trusts in the Lord and will praise Him because He has helped him, and He is His God.

We all go through sad times, it’s something we will all go through. But we must remember that we must praise Him in the good times and the bad. There is nothing too hard for God to handle. Let’s remember we can cast all our cares upon Him because He cares for us.

As you go through day 20 of your Daniel fast, remember you’re almost at the end, do not get discouraged, because God is helping you through this to the end.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for always being with me in the good times and the bad times. My entire life is in Your hands, and I will not be discouraged, nor will I lose heart when those sad times do come. It is in You I put all my trust. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
