The Joy of The Lord

Romans 15:13
13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Devotional:
When I read this scripture, the word HOPE stands out to me. HOPE…what is Hope? Let’s look at it in the Greek. The word Hope here means, confident expectation or anticipation. It is not wishful thinking as we would think in the natural. When Paul wrote this letter to the Corinthian church, he was letting them know they could have confidence in God as He is the Hope of Glory. And that God will fill us with all joy and peace and cause us to believe that we may thrive in our faith in the Hope of God through the power of the Holy Ghost.
I’ve been asked many times why I am so happy all the time. I let them know, it’s not my happiness but Jesus’ Joy. I’ve learned how to rest in His Joy and not my own. What I’ve learned is this; the more I seek Him and spend time with Him, the more joy and peace I have in Him.

It is through the gift of The Holy Ghost; we have faith in the joy of God. Believing in God and what He did for us through Jesus Christ should bring joy to our soul. Had it not been for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we would not have the gift of The Holy Spirit. We should thank God for The Holy Spirit as it is through Him, we have the confidence in the Hope of God.

As we continue our Journey to Pentecost, let’s remember what came along with the Gift of The Holy Ghost. That is the confidence in knowing that we have joy, peace, and hope in Jesus Christ.

Prayer:
Lord thank You for The Holy Spirit and the confidence I have in knowing it’s because of You that I have joy, peace, and hope. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
