“Can You Hear Me Now?”
Scripture: Romans 10:14, NKJV

“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?”

Devotion:
Some years ago, a popular phone carrier had a catchy phrase that they used to help sell their phones. In the ad campaign, the guy would be in a random place, while on the phone, and ask, “Can you hear me now? Good!” The gist is that the phone carrier had exceptional phone reception even in places that most people wouldn’t think. When reading today’s text, I am reminded of this ad. So many times we look for a mighty word from the most popular and grandiose preachers, but in my experience, the most influential word has been found in places where I wouldn’t think. By my belief and faith in God, I am able to hear and accept God’s Word in the most intentionally unintentional ways. That’s just how God works. No one knows the mind of God and how He operates, but we do know that He sends men and women out to speak His Word to all people. We must make sure that our faith and belief in God is secure. So much so that we are able to hear God’s Word no matter when, where, how, or why. It’s when we hear His Word that we realize that He is always listening when we call.

Prayer:
Jesus, we thank You for always hearing and listening to our inner most thoughts and needs. You always know how to send a Word to us to let us know that You have us on Your mind. Help us to recognize and understand when You send Your Word to us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
