“Abiding in Christ’s Teaching”
Scripture: 2 John 1:9 (NIV)

"Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son."

Devotion:
In today’s world, many voices compete for our attention, urging us to embrace new philosophies, personal truths, and alternative interpretations of faith. But John reminds us that staying rooted in Christ’s teaching is essential. Running ahead—pursuing beliefs that stray from His truth—disconnects us from God. However, abiding in His Word ensures that we remain in fellowship with both the Father and the Son.
This verse challenges us to examine our faith. Are we staying true to the gospel, or are we being swayed by the latest cultural trends that contradict Christ’s teachings? The foundation of our faith must be built on Jesus’ words, not on shifting opinions.

Application:

• Take time today to read and meditate on Jesus’ teachings in the Gospels.
• Ask the Holy Spirit to help you discern truth from deception in your spiritual journey.
• Encourage others in your faith community to stay anchored in God’s Word.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to remain in Your truth and not be led astray by teachings that do not align with Your Word. Give me wisdom to discern what is right and a heart that seeks to obey You fully. Keep me rooted in Christ so that I may walk in close fellowship with You. Amen.
