Daily Devotional - Terms of Agreement - WK6 - 2/2/25 - Day 33 - "It Takes Two"

“It Takes Two!”
 Scripture: Amos 3:3 NIV

“Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?”

Devotion:
To agree means to give consent to do something. In other words, you give yourself permission to a specific preference, opinion, or action towards something. This is shown in multiple facets and ways of life, but the one we want to focus on is from the angle of unity. When two people agree on the same thing, there is a special bond that develops. It causes each individual to have confidence in the other person that they share the same preference, opinion, or action. This confidence fuels unity, where both people become part of one cause. The average person will not associate with someone who does not agree with them, because it is counterproductive, at times, to do so. This scripture in its simplicity shows that there must be commonality even if it is just two people. They can’t walk unless they agree to put their confidence in each other. Imagine what can be accomplished when we find that “other person” who agrees with us, especially for the things of God! It takes at least two for unity to abound!

Prayer:
Thank You Lord for Your infinite wisdom! Having Your Word as a tool for daily living is a blessing. Help us to continue to move closer to You through agreeing with our brothers and sisters. After all, we are better together! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
