“The Power of Forgiveness!”
Scripture: Colossians 3:13-14 NIV

"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."

Devotion:
We all have experienced it…Someone says or does something that offends us. We have two choices at that point; we can forgive them and move on, or hold a grudge and not forgive. The issue isn’t in what they did to us, but in whether we are going to forgive them. This can be hard, especially when it’s someone close to us, like a fellow brother or sister in Christ. Let me encourage you to forgive them! Why? Because God forgave us when He didn’t have to. The grace and mercy that He bestows on us is never ending. He forgives our sins and keeps it moving. Let’s do that for each other. There’s power in forgiving our brothers and sisters when we have an issue with them. This frees you and allows you to show genuine love towards them, the same as God does for us countless times. When we forgive and show genuine love, it allows us the chance to be free from that yoke of bondage and work together in unity more perfectly. There’s power in forgiveness!

Prayer:
Jesus, we love You for consistently forgiving our sins and faults. Your grace and mercy is matchless. Help us to learn the power of forgiveness towards our brothers and sisters, so we can work in perfect unity! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
