“Walk in Unity and Peace”
Scripture: Ephesians 4:3
 
“Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

Devotion:
The NLT version of this Scripture says, “Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace”.  Paul knew that unity could be jeopardized in the church by those spreading false doctrine, sharing erroneous interpretations of the gospel, and the disputes among the people. He wanted the people in Ephesus to make sure they were keeping the peace with one another. We are also called to seek to live peacefully with each other.  While we as Christians may have differences of opinion, our main goal ought to be to share the same mind, with the love of Christ in our hearts and being united in the Spirit. God wants us to bind together and live peacefully with each other in the Spirit, just as He wants us to be one with Him (John 17:20-23).  We have to make sure His Spirit is within us.  When we are truly one in Christ, we can peacefully pray together, praise together, grieve together, defeat the enemy together, and have compassion for one another.

Prayer:
Father we thank You for guiding us to work together in unity and peace with others in this world. Help us to appreciate this unity that You have established in our lives, and let us have compassion for our brothers and sisters in Christ and all of those around us, as we live together in unity and in peace.  In Jesus’ name we Pray.  Amen
