“Actions Speak Louder Than Words!”
Scripture: James 2:26, NLT

“Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.”


Devotion: 
How many times have you been told, “actions speak louder than words?” I know I have. My grandmother has a saying that says, “what people say and what they do are two different things. ”Why are we like this? Why are we challenged to follow through with what we say we’re going to do through our actions? It’s a trick of the enemy! Our faith alone is good, but having work behind that faith is GREAT! It shows that what we proclaim is manifested in our body through our actions. If there is a misalignment, then it’s as if our faith is a dead body because there is no action behind our faith. This is what today’s Scripture is trying to show us. Our faith without action is only words coming out of our mouths. When we consider the people of the Bible who had great faith, like Abraham, Rahab, even Esther, we notice that they not only believed God, but they put some action to that faith to activate it. What was the result? God moved mightily on their behalf. Like Pastor Samu-el says, “God will allow you the opportunity to participate in your own miracle!” Let’s be active participants by activating our faith through our actions. Afterall, actions speak louder than words!

Prayer: 
Father God, we thank You for all of Your bountiful blessings. We acknowledge that sometimes our faith doesn’t match up with our words. We ask for Your forgiveness and ask that You give us the wisdom and courage to put actions to our faith. We know that You are able to do any and all things. It’s up to us to activate the power that You have given to us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
