“Love Rejoices in the Truth”
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:6
 
"Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;"

Devotion:
It is said that this verse is part of the famous "love chapter" in the Bible, where Paul defines what true, Christ-like love looks like. Paul emphasizes that love doesn't take pleasure in injustice, wrongdoing, or falsehood. Instead, love finds joy and fulfillment in the truth.

In this day and age, we are often exposed to a lot of deception, half-truths, and even outright evil. It can be easy to let these things pass by unnoticed or even become indifferent to them. But true love, Godly love, does not endeavor to point out the shortcomings of our brothers and sisters or spread mean and evil “tea” about them. It refuses to celebrate or take pleasure in others’ unfortunate situations, even when it's hidden under the guise of entertainment, convenience, or popular opinion as we often see on social media. As Christians, we are to show love by rejoicing in what is true, pure, and righteous.  In order to accomplish this type of love, we have to be aligned with God through His Word – He is the Truth and His Word is the Truth! If we truly Love, our light must shine so that others can see Jesus through our actions.  We cannot compromise the truth, but we must stand firm, even when society tempts us to do otherwise.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for showing us the true definition of love through Your Son, Jesus Christ.  We pray that You would give us a heart that rejoices with the truth. Help us to recognize and reject evil in all its sneaky forms, no matter how subtle or widespread it may be. Open our eyes to see the truth, and give us the courage to stand in it. Help us not to compromise with the world’s standards or to find comfort in things that are not in Your will. Let our love for others be rooted in truth and point them to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
