"High Esteem"
Scripture: Philippians 2:3

“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.”

Devotion:
In today’s world, there is a strong emphasis on self-promotion, success, and gaining recognition. Philippians 2:3 challenges us to approach life differently, urging us to leave behind selfish ambitions and to embrace humility. It’s a call to value others, not just in words, but in actions—putting their needs, well-being, and concerns ahead of our own.

True humility doesn’t mean thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less. It means recognizing that others are just as important, loved, and valued by God as you are. When we choose to act in humility, we follow the example of Jesus, who came not to be served, but to serve others.

Application:

• Today, practice seeing others through the eyes of Christ. Take time to listen to someone’s needs or show kindness in a way that doesn’t seek praise or recognition.
• Ask God to help you lay aside selfish ambition and pride, and to give you a heart that seeks to lift others up.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of humility that Jesus set for us. Help me today to serve others, not out of selfish desire or to seek praise, but out of love. Teach me to value others above myself and to live with a humble heart, seeking to glorify You in all I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
