"Ultimate Greatness"
Scripture: Matthew 20:26

“But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister”

Devotion:
In this passage, Jesus redefines greatness in the kingdom of God. The disciples were arguing about positions of honor and status, but Jesus shifted their perspective. Rather than seeking power and prestige, He called them to humble service. True greatness in God’s eyes isn’t about how high we rise but how low we are willing to stoop to serve others.

Jesus, the Son of God, exemplified this servant leadership. He washed the feet of His disciples, healed the sick, and ultimately gave His life for humanity. He was the embodiment of selfless love and sacrificial service. If we want to follow His example, we too must seek to serve rather than be served.

The world often teaches us that power and authority are the marks of success. However, in the kingdom of God, humility and a heart of service are what truly matter. When we put others first, we reflect the character of Christ. Serving others with love and humility is the path to true greatness.

Application:
Think about a situation in your life where you can serve someone else—whether at work, in your family, or in your community. Look for opportunities to be a blessing to others, not for recognition, but out of a heart filled with love for God and others.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, teach me the true meaning of greatness. Help me to serve others with humility and love, just as Jesus did. May my actions reflect a heart that seeks to uplift others, rather than seeking my own advancement. Give me a servant's heart, so that I may honor You in all that I do. In Jesus' name, Amen.
