“Empowered by Christ”
Scripture: Philippians 4:13
 
"I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me."

Devotion:
When Paul wrote this verse in his letter to the people in Philippi, he was imprisoned. Although he had experienced both great joy and great suffering, he was able to boldly say that through Christ’s strength, he can face it all.
Just like Paul, we are not promised that we are going to succeed and accomplish everything that we set out to do, but it is imperative that we stand strong in the faith and declare that no matter what life throws at us, such as hardships, temptations, loss of family members or belongings, or even success; it is up to us to pray to God for His strength and trust that we can endure because Christ is living in us and empowering us to do so.
We are not taking this journey of life alone, so when we are faced with difficult battles or find ourselves trying to stay consistent in our faith, remember that Jesus is the source of our strength.  We have to surrender it all to Him, because with Him all things are possible.
 
Prayer:
Lord, we thank You for the promise that we can do all things through You. Forgive us when we try to carry life’s weight on our own and stop trusting You.  We ask that You will fill us with Your strength today, so that we can be mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually stronger. Help us to be content, trusting that You are enough, no matter what we face. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
