“He’s Got Something in Store”
Scripture: I Corinthians 2:9 
 
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

Devotion:
Sometimes even as believers, it’s hard to see beyond the present moment. We often base our outlook on past experience, but our predictive powers are limited. We can’t say for sure what the future holds. However, our God knows our future and what will be. All we really know about the future is that God has a lot of very good things in store for us.

There may be some trials and persecutions on the way from here to there, but the end result is good. Paul encourages us in this scripture today and reminds us that we could never imagine all of the good things that God has in store for us, if we love the Lord. The Word also tells us that He (God) will not withhold any good thing from us that love Him.

We all will experience good and bad on this side as we navigate life. But we really cannot imagine all that God has in store for us, both in this life and for eternity. While God certainly gives us some great experiences in our lives, we should all be looking forward to the new Heaven and new Earth that is promised to us where we will live with Him forever. As we state in our Affirmation of Faith, we do believe in the blessed hope. If we live right, an unimaginable heavenly experience awaits us.

Prayer:
Lord, we thank You for the hope that one day we will be able to live with You forever in Heaven. Help us to prepare and be ready for that great day. Help us to endure the trials and difficult situations we may encounter in life and let us always remember that You have something great in store for us, if we love You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
