“Blessings for Obedience”
Scripture: Leviticus 26:3-4

“If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.”

Devotion:
God is speaking to His chosen people, the children of Israel. He is giving them instructions for receiving His blessings, such as to Walk in His statutes and to Keep and Do His commandments. He makes them conditional promises that, if they would obey His commandments, and keep His statutes, He would provide for them. He would make sure their crops were watered, and their land would yield her increase, and the trees would yield their fruit.   These verses show the nature of God’s promises and how He is committed to provide for His people.  He desires that we keep His commandments also.  In this 26th chapter of Leviticus it describes God’s blessings, and it also lets us know the consequences of being unfaithful.  He describes the judgment that He would bring down on the Israelites if they did not keep His statutes.  We all have choices to make in this life and based on the path we choose; it will determine the road our lives take.  Today, we must choose to keep His commandments and seek Him first in all that we do if we are to receive His blessings.  Matthew 6:33 says it like this, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all of these things will be added unto you,” Remember that God loves us, and He desires to provide for us.  Let’s not let anything come between Him and us. Let’s remind ourselves even as we live in this world, and sometimes we get weary and grow weak, that we have a Father who cares for us and wants to bless us with all of our needs and the desires of our hearts.

Prayer:
Father we thank You for all the ways You make for us, when we don’t even deserve it, but You do it just because You Love us that much. Please forgive us when we fall short of Your statutes Father.  We love You because You first loved us, and again we say Thank You.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
