“Living Hope”
Scripture: 1 Peter 1:3
 
“ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”

Devotion:
Peter was writing to believers who were suffering and scattered, facing trials for their faith. He reminded them, and reminds you and I today, that even in our pain, we have a hope that lives because Jesus Christ conquered death and was resurrected.  Because He lives, we have a living hope!
His resurrection power is working on our behalf today. This hope that we have is not wishful thinking, it is anchored in our risen Savior. I am reminded how our Church Mother gave us of the meaning of an anchor – a device to hold a ship in water so that it does not toss to and fro. We can be sure that if we trust in Jesus, our anchor, our blessed hope, that we can live a life with less stress and anxiety!  We as believers can be found guilty of living a life of confidence in the fact that we have been born into a living hope because of the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your great mercy and for giving us new life through Jesus. Help us to live with confidence and joy, that is rooted in the living hope we have because of Your resurrection. In every battle we face, remind us that we have hope because Christ is alive in us.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
