"It Doesn’t Take Long"
Scripture: Acts 19:9-10

“But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus. And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.”

Devotion: Two years – 24 months – 104 weeks – 730 days – 17532 hours – 1,051,200 minutes – 63,078,912 seconds  - whew that’s a long time when you look at all the numbers. Let’s incorporate that into the span of distance covered by Asia. The total area of Asia is 17,226,200 square miles, or 1/3 of the Earth’s land surface. The scripture above states that in a span of 2 years, ALL that dwelt in Asia heard the word of God, which means that the disciples covered all this distance in a short amount of time. The average human walks about 3 miles per hour, which would have taken them about 655 years to walk across the span of Asia, but the Bible says that ALL heard the word in 2 years. This is the power of God’s word.

It doesn’t take long to hear it, it doesn’t take long to accept it, it doesn’t take long to spread it. With our natural mind, we cannot comprehend how everyone in Asia heard the Word in such a short time, but my spiritual mind tells me that when people are on fire for the Lord, the fire spreads quickly. How fast are we spreading the Word of God? Are we taking 655 years because our mind can only grasp the natural side, or are we crossing continents in 2 years because we know the Power of the Word of God? Let’s open our spiritual mind and spread the gospel because, it doesn’t take long.

Prayer: Father, we thank You for Your Word. We thank you that we don’t have to cross continents on foot to spread the gospel. Help us to use every resource that you have given us to get the gospel to all corners of your Earth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
