Share the Gospel
Scripture: Romans 10:14-17

“14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Devotion: Today’s lesson focuses on the importance of preaching the gospel. The question is posed, How can they hear without a preacher? It is often said that Christianity is a “go tell it” Religion. So, we must remember this, as believers, we all have a charge to preach the gospel and God’s truth to unbelievers, so that they may hear and be saved. How will our loved ones and neighbors hear unless we share the gospel message with them? Each of us have people in our circle of influence that are waiting to hear the word and be saved.

I am thankful for a brother that I met as a college student a few years back. He was a self-avowed “atheist.” I began introducing the word of God to him subtly, at first with resistance, but after a while he began to ask me questions about God. He soon began to attend church and Bible studies and went on to get involved in his church’s youth ministry and working in the church. On last Thursday I was able to witness this young man preach his initial sermon. I share this testimony with you to say we never know what will become of our witnessing. So, as we begin this week, let us all think of someone that needs to hear the message of Jesus, ask God for a way to share His message with that person, and begin to plant the seed in that person’s life.

Prayer: Lord, we thank You for letting us hear Your gospel message and saving us. Help us to be Your gospel preachers and give us the ability to share the gospel of salvation to someone, so that they too may believe and come to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
