“From Sorrow to Joy” Scripture:

“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5 KJV)

Devotional:
The joy of the Lord is my strength! This is one of my favorite scriptures, and it’s one that I have grown to live by in my walk with Christ. True joy comes from staying connected to the true vine, and that’s Jesus Christ! Through the many trials and tribulations that we endure, it’s important that we realize God is always there to see us through. No matter what we face, despite the many transitions in our lives, God’s joy must remain in us. We may have to cry sometimes. We may feel down and out in our wilderness and valley experiences, but God will make a way for us. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy is coming in the morning!

Another thing that we have to remind ourselves of daily is that our joy can’t be circumstantial or be based on what’s happening around us. If it is based on our situation or circumstances, then that means we can only praise and worship God when things are going our way. But what about those times when everything around us is crumbling under our feet? Can we trust God in the valley? Can we trust God in the wilderness? We don’t want temporary happiness based on what is happening. However, we want genuine joy. Our joy has to come from our faith in and assurance in God’s power and authority in our lives. God’s joy is everlasting! No matter what we face, we know God has us in the palm of His hands, and He’s working all things out for our good!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your joy that fills my soul. Help me allow your joy to fill me each day despite what I go through in this life. Amen
