He Speaks for me

Romans 8:26 –
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Devotional:
It’s not unusual for us not to have words to express how we feel and what we want. Some may think you don’t have a prayer life if you can’t find words to say to The Lord. But on the contrary. Sometimes, we just don’t know what to say to The Lord, especially when situations are hard for us to handle or understand.

I remember a season in my life when I literally could not make my mortgage payment. I laid in bed and cried to The Lord that particular night not knowing how I was going to pay the bill or where I was going to get the money from. I believe at that moment The Holy Spirit began interceding for me and speaking on my behalf. A few days later, while sitting in my car at lunch, The Holy Spirit spoke to me and told me to go to the bank and speak to the banker. I met with the banker whom I had developed a banker/customer relationship with. I told her my situation and she asked me if I had ever looked at the equity I had in my home. I didn’t even know what that meant. But she walked me through the process, and I took out the home equity loan for $25K, paid my mortgage and did some upgrades on my house.

That’s what having the gift of The Holy Spirit does for us. He makes intercession for us, i.e., speaks to The Father on our behalf and God in turn, turns things around for us. The Holy Spirit is given to all those who believe in Christ Jesus. It was a gift from Jesus that He promised He would give us when He ascended to heaven. The Holy Spirit is like the superpower of Jesus Christ. All you have to do is ask for Him, and He will come.

As you go throughout your day today, remember, The Holy Spirit is your intercessor. He is here to speak on your behalf. If you do not have The Holy Spirit, ask for Him to manifest in your life, and He will show up for you and show out for you.

Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for the gift of The Holy Spirit who is here to speak for me when I can’t find the words. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
