“Triumph In God”
Scripture: 1 Samuel 2:1, AMP
 
“Hannah prayed and said, “My heart rejoices and triumphs in the Lord; My horn (strength) is lifted up in the Lord, My mouth has opened wide [to speak boldly] against my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.”

Devotion:
Have you ever asked God for something for so long that you thought – maybe He doesn’t hear me or maybe I should stop asking? Imagine if Hannah had stopped asking God for her miracle -  there would be no Samuel. Hannah did not stop until her prayer was answered and then she gave God the praise. The word triumph means “significant victory or success, often achieved after a difficult struggle or challenge”. Hannah was determined to have a son, and she sought the Lord until He answered her prayer. When she received her blessing, she didn’t forget who gave it to her. The rest of the definition says it comes with a feeling of great accomplishment and pride; however, I want to challenge you Saints to not forget who answers your prayer. Sometimes we look at our successes and even can think we have done something ourselves; however, God is the source of every triumph. When we stay anchored and rooted in Him, He will bring us through every frustration and every challenge. Out triumph is not in our successes, it’s in God.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for answering my prayers even when I didn’t feel heard. Thank You for every triumph You have brought me through. Help me to continue to seek You in all things and to give You all the glory, honor and praise. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
