“One Love”
Scripture: Philippians 2:2 KJV
 
 “Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.”

Devotion:
Bob Marley had a very famous song entitled “One Love.” The song was about unity and love, despite differences. If we look at our current social climate and the divisive tactics and barrage of negative propaganda, it is easy to get distracted by what we see. It is easy to feed into fear tactics and division. However, the truth is God’s love is greater than the tricks and traps of the enemy. There is more that binds us than that separates us. God made us all, and He loves us all. He has no respect of persons and neither should we.
           
In today’s scripture, Paul lets the Philippians know that his joy would be complete if they continue to walk in unity by having a shared mindset, shared love, and shared spiritual connection. We are the body of Christ; we are the light of the world; we are the salt of the earth. The trick of the enemy is to keep us the children of God divided because he knows when we come together we can wreak havoc on his schemes and evil attacks. We can deflect his fiery darts when we are united and bound together in perfect peace. We can rebuke his lies when we walk in the unity of God’s Word and truth. We can tear his very kingdom down when we are united in love!

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being such a gracious Father to us. Help us walk in unity and love with our brothers and our sisters. Amen.
