As we journey through this week in our Month of Prayer, I’m asking that the saints come together and let’s pray not only for our church leaders, but also remember to pray for our civic leaders. It’s important that we, as the called out ones, remember that we are called to be the “salt of the earth.” Salt in its natural form is a change agent. Of the many natural uses, salt is used most frequently as seasoning or flavoring for food. When salt is added it alters the taste of the food. Salt was also used to preserve meats, and as a cleansing agent and purifier. 

I believe that when the saints unite in prayer for our nation and civic leaders, that things will change for the better. I want to encourage each of us to make a conscious effort to cover our government in prayer on every level. From local, to state, to national leaders.

In today's world, where the temptation for corruption and self-aggrandizement in leadership roles is high, these biblical principles are more crucial than ever. As citizens and believers, we must pray for our leaders to embody these values and principles, as they are responsible for the laws and regulations that govern us in this world. Prayer changes things.

Prayer:
Father, I come to you on behalf of our civic leaders. I ask that you instill in our leaders a sense of justice, mercy, and humility. Come into their hearts and minds, and give them Godly wisdom and values. Please guide all of their decisions and actions. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
