Day 11: Children's Faith
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Devotional:
Parents, the introduction of your children to God falls squarely on your shoulders. Proverbs 22:6 encourages us to "train up a child" in God's ways, promising that this foundation will serve them well in their adult years. Parenting does not end when they turn 18, the method of instruction simply changes.
Parents have the responsibility to make sure that their children grow up in the fear and admonishment of God. Not like that fear you put into them to get them to act right, the understanding and wisdom they will need once they reach the age of understanding what is right and what is wrong. Yes, it takes a village to raise a child, but parents, beware, you are the ones held accountable for the knowledge and instruction for your children.
Those with adult children, reflect on their upbringing. Are there things you would do differently if given the chance? If you are still raising your children, remember the verse for today. The way a child should go is only one way….God’s way.
Prayer:
Lord, grant me wisdom and love as I guide the children in my life toward a strong faith in You. Amen.
