“Who’s Laughing Now?”
Scripture: Job 8:20-21 NLT

“But look, God will not reject a person of integrity, nor will he lend a hand to the wicked. He will once again fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.”

Devotion:
Sometimes we find ourselves in embarrassing situations that cause people to laugh at us rather than with us. Most of us move on from the experience even though we don’t want to ever find ourselves in that situation. Some of us find ourselves in a situation of trying to get “revenge” of some sort. When we seek out revenge and ultimately accomplish it against the perpetrators, we have a feeling of “who’s laughing now?” In other words, we feel vindicated because the other person experiences something that they put us through. Today’s text reminds us to not even worry, God has us! All we need to do is continue to do what we know is right, and He will handle the rest. He will give us reason to laugh and find joy even in the situation we may be dealing with. The beauty of this text is that it says, “He will ONCE AGAIN.” This means that He has done it before! So just like He did before, He will come through again. What great consolation!

Prayer:
Thank You Lord for always looking out for us! We magnify You for not rejecting us and filling our hearts with laughter and joy. You are the ultimate problem solver! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
