“Greater Things”
Scripture: John 14:12, AMP

“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, anyone who believes in Me [as Savior] will also do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these [in extent and outreach], because I am going to the Father.”

Devotion:
What an astounding promise—greater things. Jesus, who healed the sick, raised the dead, fed thousands, calmed storms, and forgave sins, now turns to His followers and says, "You will do greater things." When Jesus ascended, He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in His people. No longer limited to one time and place, the presence and power of God were multiplied through every believer. But it still takes faith. Jesus says, "Anyone who believes in Me..." That’s the condition. Not perfect performance, not titles, not fame—but simple, trusting belief in Him.

God has called you into a life that reflects His power, love, and mission to the world. Greater things doesn’t always mean flashy miracles—they often show up in small, faithful acts of obedience that ripple farther than we can see. When you share the Gospel, forgive someone who hurt you, stand for truth in a culture of compromise, or love the unlovable—you are walking in the “greater things” Jesus spoke of.

Prayer:
Lord, Thank You for calling me into something greater than I could imagine. Teach me to walk by faith, to listen to Your voice, and to step out when You lead me. Let me not settle for a small faith or a quiet retreat from the world. I want to live in the fullness of what You’ve promised—greater things, for Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
