"Faithful Stewardship"
Scripture: Matthew 24:45-47

“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.”

Devotion:
In this passage, Jesus speaks about the importance of faithful stewardship. He paints the picture of a servant, entrusted by the master to care for his household. The servant’s job is to provide what is needed at the right time and to remain diligent, even when the master is away. The reward for the faithful servant is promotion to greater responsibility when the master returns.

This parable applies directly to our lives today. As Christians, we have been entrusted with various roles, responsibilities, and gifts. Whether in our families, workplaces, communities, or churches, God calls us to be faithful stewards of what He has placed in our care. It’s easy to become distracted or complacent, especially when we don’t see immediate results or recognition. However, this passage reminds us that God sees everything. He rewards those who are diligent and faithful, even when the work seems unnoticed.

Being a “faithful and wise servant” means taking our daily responsibilities seriously, whether they seem big or small. It means serving others, using our talents for God’s glory, and living each day as if the Master could return at any moment. In doing so, we honor God and reflect His love and faithfulness to those around us.

Thought for the Day:
Faithfulness in small things prepares us for greater things in God's kingdom. How can you serve faithfully today?

Prayer:
Lord, help me to be a faithful steward of all that You have entrusted to me. Give me wisdom to serve others well and the diligence to fulfill my responsibilities with a heart of love and faithfulness. May I be found faithful when You return, ready to give an account of how I have used the gifts and opportunities You’ve given me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
