Life Pleasing to God

Scripture: Psalm 30:5 NLT
5 "For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning."

Anger – a strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility.
Favor – approval, support or liking for someone or something – An act of kindness beyond what is due or usual.

Devotion
The discomfort of God’s anger lasts only a moment, but, the good effects go on for a long time. When we continue to rebel and continue in sin, stirring up God’s anger against us, we experience pain, trials and tribulation, discomfort and discord that continues until we receive His unmerited favor.  That’s when we receive joy in the morning. That everlasting joy that strengthens us to see God the more.

We thought that we were happy while in our sin – NOTHING compares to true joy when we repent and turn away from our sin, and learn to live the Authentic Life that we are meant to live.  Our views are different, our thoughts, hearts, minds and souls reap the benefits from God’s favor.

There are not enough words to articulate the goodness and mercy of God’s love when we learn to live the life our Lord has planned for us.

Prayer
My prayer for us today; Father, Thank You for Your word of instruction to live this life pleasing unto You.  Not our will, but thy will be done in us, through us, and for us to live and have our being in You.  Thank You that You loved us enough to send Your only begotten Son that none of us should perish but have that everlasting life on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
